Submission Guidelines

Submissions may range from 1–2 pages in PDF format, excluding references, using the ACM Performance Evaluation Review template (see below). Submissions are strongly encouraged to use only as much space as needed to clearly convey the significance of the work.

We invite submissions in the following two categories:

1. Talk Abstracts (up to 2 pages): Present an overview of new or previously published work, preliminary research findings, or emerging topics in carbon-aware computing. These abstracts may form the basis of talks at the workshop, offering insights into work that is ongoing, completed, or drawing from previously established research.
2. Vision Statements (up to 2 pages): Propose forward-looking ideas, frameworks, or strategies for carbon-aware computing, supported by some preliminary or partial results. These statements should outline the broader implications and potential future impact of the proposed work, even if full experimental validation is still underway.

Formatting

Submissions should be previously unpublished and not currently under review by another conference or journal. Papers should be submitted for consideration via the workshop website, prior to the submission deadline, and must adhere to the provided formatting guidelines. Submissions should use the PER LaTeX styles found here. Papers that do not meet the size and formatting requirements may not be reviewed. Please note that ACM uses 9pt fonts in all conference proceedings, and the LaTeX style implicitly defines the font size to be 9pt.

After the workshop, revised versions of accepted submissions will be published in a special issue of Performance Evaluation Review, with an extra page allowed to address reviewer comments and/or summarize discussions from the workshop. Authors of abstracts grant ACM permission to publish them in print and digital formats, although PER does not claim copyright (as stated in the template)—authors retain copyright of their work with complete freedom to submit their work elsewhere.
